Charles Ray Turner

Charles Ray Turner, age 92, passed away on February 19, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Known for his quick wit and kindness, he made a lasting impression on everyone. Charles was born on December 9, 1932 in Pell City, Alabama to Marvin Van Turner and Ellie Bain Turner. He was a member of East Bristol Baptist Church.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred Farmer Turner; sister, Carly Jo Turner East; nephews, Grady Turner (Ann) and Robin Blake Turner (Holly); nieces, Sarah Beth Gettys (Charles), Rebecca Godsey, Landy Garrod (Paul), Tina Turner, and Merrill Bain Turner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Edward Turner, Lawrence Terry Turner, Dwight Bain Turner, and William E. Turner.

The visitation for Charles will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Birchfield and Pastor Peter Vanburg officiating. The committal service will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to East Bristol Baptist Church, 52 Pendergrass Road, Bristol, Virginia 24201.
