Abingdon, VA – Charlotte Anne Hale of Abingdon, Virginia passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center. Charlotte was born on December 31, 1947 in Clifton, Virginia to the late William Henry Sprouse and Anna Elizabeth Fletcher Sprouse. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Sprouse and Ronnie Sprouse; a sister, Carol Jordan; and a son, John L. Hale Jr. Charlotte is survived by her husband, John L. Hale; three sons, James L. Hale of Abingdon, Brian J. Hale of Abingdon, and Richard C. and Jennifer A. Hale of Spotsylvania; four grandchildren, Richard C. Hale, Jr., Amanda C. Carter, Isaac J. Hale, and Damien R. Hale; and two great-grandchildren, Adalynn Carter and Aerabella Isom. Charlotte was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Abingdon, VA. She was passionate about genealogy, especially collecting family history. Family meant everything to her, and she loved them very much. Because Charlotte enjoyed flowers, the family welcomes flowers sent as expressions of sympathy. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.
