Mr. Christopher Nathaniel Necessary, Sr., age 53 passed away at his home on Saturday October 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Havre de Grace, MD, but moved to Meadowview, VA 21 years ago. Mr. Necessary was employed as a concrete finisher during his working years. He was a member of the Deer Valley Baptist Church in Chilhowie, VA. Christopher was known to be an avid reader and fisherman; and a diehard Redskins and Orioles fan.
Mr. Christopher Nathaniel Necessary, Sr. was predeceased by his father James Alva Necessary and a brother Dennis Wayne Ashford. He is survived by his mother Doreen Necessary of Saltville, VA; his wife Susan Arlene Necessary of the home; 2 sons Christopher Nathaniel Necessary, Jr. of Meadowview, VA, and Scott Lucas of Port Deposit, MD.; 2 daughters Jessica (Matthew Brian) Osborne of Chilhowie, VA and Jennifer Woods (boyfriend Richard Johnson) of Marion, VA; 3 brothers Radford (Susie) Ashford of Perryville, MD, Raymond (Sandra) Ashford of Aberdeen, MD, and Kenneth (Debbie) Necessary of Tazewell, VA; 3 sisters Joyce Asbury of Tazewell, VA, Sue (Bill) parker of Kansas, MO, and Lillian (Barry) Greene of Saltville, VA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Brenden Martin, Makenzie Woods, Trinity Woods, Skyler Johnson, Kayden Osborne, Ethan Johnson, Cari-Ann Lucas, Kayla Lucas, Christian Lucas, Brayden Lucas and Caleb Lucas.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Christopher Necessary, Sr. will be held at Noon on Thursday October 10, 2013 at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens; Abingdon, VA with Rev. Don Hazelwood officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am 11:30 am at the funeral home prior to processing to the cemetery for the service.
