Clarence Henry "C.H." Arnold, Jr., age 83, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, VA.
C.H. was born on January 27, 1926 to the late Mary Alice and Clarence Henry Arnold, Sr. He was a life-long resident of Washington County, VA and a member of Gospel Tabernacle. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Florence Arnold, his brother, Warren Arnold, and his sister, Helen Higgins.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Elsie Farmer of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Mavis Mullins and husband, Danny of Morristown, TN, Tracy Gray of Abingdon, Ivan Gray and wife Shara of Morristown, TN, and Pamela Gray of Abingdon; one great grand-daughter Austyn Mullins, Morristown, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1pm at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Rev. Darrell Henley officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Danny Mullins, Ivan Gray, Garland C. Wolfe, Jr., Adam Wolfe, David Robins, and Carlie Fuller. Honorary pallbearer will be Phil Creech. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:50 pm going to the cemetery.
