Meadowview, VA – Clarence Hugh Robins, Sr., age 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Clarence was a member of Gospel Tabernacle and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Evans Robins and Martha Jane Cooper Robins; seven brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Francis Robins; three sons, Clarence Robins, Jr. of Meadowview, VA, Michael Robins and wife Kay of Glade Spring, VA, and David Robins and wife Karen of Abingdon, VA; one daughter, Mary (Jeff) Payne of Meadowview, VA; six grandchildren, Michael Quesenberry, Lindy Robins, Isaac Robins, Natalie Payne, Eli Robins, and Cassadee Payne; special cousin, Marvin Nipper; and three special neighbors, Monroe and Ellen Reynolds, Cheryl and Bobbie Dye, and Patsy Robins. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Carlie Fuller and Pastor David Robins officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marvin Nipper, Adam Wolfe, Jimmy Goad, Stewart Thomas, Larry Thomas, Garland C. Wolfe, Wayne Fuller, Brian Osborne, Joe Arnold, and Michael Quesenberry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Gospel Tabernacle Church. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to convene at the funeral home before 10:40 a.m. The family would like to extend special thanks to all those who gave care to Mr. Robins the past few years.
