Mr. Clifford "Pete" Cuddy, Jr., age 74 and lifelong resident of Washington County, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Pete was a member of Free Pentecostal Assembly and worked for Roger's Trucking, Blevins Construction, and W-L Construction throughout his working career. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and loved gardening and camping.
Mr. Cuddy is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Cuddy, Sr. and Lula Tolliver Cuddy; son, Jerry Wise; and brothers, Ernest and Danny Cuddy.
He leaves behind his wife, Geraldine Herndon Wise Cuddy; daughters, Judy (James) Church of Abingdon, VA, Debra (Robert) Vestal of Abingdon, VA, and Lapeta (Martin) Widener of Chilhowie, VA; sons, Eddie and Ricky Wise, both of Abingdon, VA; brother, Bobby Cuddy of Meadowview, VA; five sisters, Ruby Watkins of Baltimore, MD, Viola (Jennings) Casey of Aberdeen, MD, Mary Parris of Glade Spring, VA, Glenda Winebarger of Abingdon, VA, and Diane (James) Castle of Abingdon, VA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Stanley officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Phil Rhoton, Trevor Chapman, James Church, Robert Vestal, Martin Widener, and Bobby Cuddy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Garland, Jason Garland, Roger Rowe, Gerald Harless and Ricky Harless.
