Abingdon, VA – Connie Sue Buckland Gonderman Barbour, age 70, passed on Monday, December 28, 2020, shortly before the passing of her son, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Connie was a graduate of Graham High School in Bluefield, VA and an employee of Bonanza for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Francis Hart Buckland; husband, Grady Oliver Barbour; and sisters, Pam Neal and Patricia Moore. Connie’s son, Richard Wayne Gonderman, passed just hours after her.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Beam and husband Kevin; son, Gary Michael Gonderman and partner Jessica Fitzgerald; brother, Eddie Buckland and wife Robin; sisters, Mary Ann Blackwell and husband Joe, and Sandy Hoback; grandchildren, Amber Gonderman, Michael Gonderman, Eric Lutz, and Roxanna Fitzgerald; great grandchildren, Kazleigh Gonderman, Eric Lutz, Jr., and Bailey Lutz; and several nieces and nephews.
A joint visitation for Connie and Richard will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
