Coy “Tom” Hall, 80, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, in Abingdon from complications of a massive stroke. He was born March 12, 1937, in Washington County, Va. to the late Coy and Cora Hall. He was co-owner of Hall Bros. Concrete Finishing along with his brother, Garland Hall, for over 60 years. He also had many other business ventures which made him well-known in the Tri-Cities area.
Coy never met a stranger and always had a smile; he was an encourager to many. He attended East Bristol Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley M. Hall; sons Bart (Lori) Cadle, Johnny (Teresa) Hall, and Tim (Kandy) Hall; grandson Barry Hall; brothers Garland Hall and Richard (Jane) Hall; sister Joyce (Jay) Self; brother-in-law Jack (Lana) McClanahan; sister-in-law Shelia Woodyard; special friends Sue Coleman, Trey (Vanessa) Hobbs, and Robin (Joyce) Yates; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held honoring Mr. Hall’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018, in the mausoleum chapel of Mountain View Cemetery, 1019 East Valley Drive, Bristol, Va. 24201, with Minister Tim Ruble officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum chapel by 1:50 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, Va. 24210, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank Johnston Memorial Hospital staff and Dr. Tambi for the excellent care they gave Coy during his time there.
