Daniel Isaac Mitchell

Daniel Isaac Mitchell, age 71, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Monday, January 4, 2017, leaving all his earthly troubles and strife behind. He was born to the late David Willis Mitchell and Hattie Blanche Hayden Mitchell.

He is survived by two sons, Brian Alan Mitchell of Newport News, Va. and Christopher Mitchell and wife Tricia of Abingdon, Va.; two daughters, Tammy Diane Mitchell of Newport News, Va. and Danielle Thompson and husband Jason of Abingdon, Va.; fiancée and best friend of 17 years, Sharon Camper Wilson of Bristol, Va.; four brothers: Job Mitchell of Abingdon, Va.; Samuel Mitchell and wife Brenda of Saltville, Va.; Paul Mitchell of Abingdon, Va.; and Joel Mitchell and wife Sara of Saltville, Va.; four sisters: Ruth Stallard and husband Gerald of Saltville, Va.; Rebekah “Beck” Mitchell and husband Alan Bordwine of Abingdon, Va.; Rachel Johnson and husband Isaac of Saltville, Va.; and Reba Sutphin of Abingdon, Va.; eight grandchildren, Lucas, Julie, Bella, Jacob, and Makayla Mitchell, Isaac Thompson, and Kaiden and Toby Mitchell; aunt, Martha W. Mitchell of Saltville, Va.; former spouse and mother of his children, Brenda Reynolds Mitchell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Mitchell Family Cemetery, North Fork River Rd., Saltville, Va. 24370, with Bro. Paul White officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8th at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
