Daniel Whitson Kestner

Daniel Whitson Kestner, 67, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012. Born in Abingdon, VA, he was a son of the late William McKinley Kestner and Kathleen Reedy Kestner. He served his country in the U.S. Army; and worked as a Corporate Advanced Systems Technician for Bell South until retirement. After retirement he was associated with Kestner Auto Repair until his death.

Surviving are: his wife, Patricia Campbell Kestner of West Columbia; daughters, Cynthia Dawn Kestner and Rebecca Kestner LaCoe (Dave) of West Columbia; sons, Daniel Eric Kestner (Lisa) of Lexington; step-sons, Wes Dieffenwierth (Crystal) of Pitman, NJ and Jason Sharpe (Linne) of Norway; sisters, Genevieve Kestner Rogers of Northwood, NH, Martha Jeanette Kestner Jessee of Manawa, WI, Naomi Kestner Barrett (Larry) of Abingdon, VA and Lou Vonda Kestner Price of Bradenton, FL; brothers, John Calvin Kestner of West Columbia, Robert Lewis Kestner (Sharon) of Chapin, Samuel Dophus Kestner (Kathy) of Abingdon, VA; nephew, Wayne McKinley Thorpe, beloved as a brother, of Abingdon, VA; nine grandchildren, Kasey, Zachary, Christina, Erica, Blake, Samantha, Lexi, Ben and Daniel. Mr. Kestner was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Titus William Kestner and Michael Anthony Kestner.

Funeral services for Daniel Whitson Kestnerwill be held at 12 Noon Friday, March 16, 2012, at Congaree Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor John D. White. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
