Danny Kermit McCoy

Danny Kermit McCoy, age 68, of Bristol, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2015. He enjoyed building stock cars and was a skilled mechanic. He loved the Lord and listening to gospel music was his favorite pastime. Danny will be sadly missed, but we are thankful that his suffering is over and he is at peace with Jesus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Maynard McCoy and Lillian Fay Deel McCoy; four sisters, Barbara McCoy Herring, Janice Deel Nelson, Cassie McCoy Walker, and Annasue McCoy Reed; two brothers, Shalor and Jerry McCoy. Danny is survived by his brother, Kenny McCoy and wife Pat of Nora, VA; sister, Laura McCoy Taylor of the home; daughter, Laura McCoy Elswick and husband Joe of Nora, VA; three grandchildren, Emily, Mason, and Daniel Elswick; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Freda of the home, who will miss him very much. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of Home Healthcare of Southwest Virginia and NHC of Bristol. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends will meet at McCoy Cemetery in Nora, VA at 1:00 p.m. (or upon arrival) Tuesday for a committal service. Pallbearers will be selected from family. Flowers will be accepted.
