David "Earl" Bott, 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his home.
Earl was born December 21, 1929, in Washington County, VA son of the late Layton and Mae Pippin Bott. He served in the United States Airforce. He retired from the City of Richmond Police force in 1977. Earl was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam Harmon and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Leonard Bott; one son, Jerry Bott of Glen Allen, VA; one daughter, Bridget Harmon; one brother, Layton Bott, Jr. of Bristol; one sister, Ruby Bott Slagele of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Adam Harmon, Jason Bott, Tiffany Harmon, and Rebecca Dorr; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A cryptside service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Forest Hills Memory Gardens Colonial Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Austin Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to12:00 PM prior to the service. Military honors will be rendered by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National guard Honor Guard.
