Damascus, Va. David Leon Rhoten, age 65, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. David was born February 25, 1953 in Washington County, Va. David was national service manager for Royal Building Products and had been employed by the company for nineteen years. He was a member of One Way Ministries in Damascus, Va. and founded Mountain Top Music Ministries. David loved to conduct Bible studies and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
David is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Bufford Rhoten; one brother, Larry Rhoten; and father-in-law, Dan Lewis. David is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Andrea Lewis Rhoten; his mother, Joyce Rhoten of Abingdon; daughters Hannah Rhoten of the home, Haley Owens and husband, Ryan of Abingdon, and Rebecca Rhoten of Abingdon; son, Michael Rhoten and wife, Sarah of Knoxville; brothers, James Rhoten and wife, Randi of Abingdon and Cecil Rhoten and wife, Patsy of Abingdon; sister, Linda Ball and husband, James of Castlewood; mother-in-law, Carolyn Lewis of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Ritchie and Rev. Chuck Bolduc officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time for service. The commital service will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
