Delana Faye Nunley

Delana Faye Nunley, 68, passed away on November 5th after losing her fight with cancer. Faye was born on February 6th, 1955, to Nelson (Nelk) Nunley and Shirley Shelton in the hills of Abingdon Va.  Faye spent her life being the most amazing wife, mother, and grandmother any family could have dreamed of. She married Wade Roland Nunley in 1974 and had two sons, Kevin and Mark Nunley. 

Faye loved to fish, play cards, camp, cook, eat, tell stories and laugh. She could sit on the bank of a river for hours and always had enough food for an army!

Faye was predeceased by her parents, Nelk and Shirley Nunley. She is survived by her loving husband Wade, her adoring sons Kevin and Mark, her daughter-in-law Athena and her treasured granddaughters, Ciana and husband Benjamin Ratliff, and Desirae. Her sisters Judy and Katrina and her brothers, Larry, Jack, Dan, and Curt also survived her.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memory Gardens on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Jason Nunley and Donald Barton officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Taylor, Chad Mitchell, Todd Mitchell, Chase Nunley, Jason Nunley, Greg Cornett, and Daniel Nunley.  Aaron Taylor will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Resource Center to assist others in their battle with this devastating disease.
