Belfast, VA – Delma Francis Taylor Dye, age 92, passed on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center. Delma was born June 2, 1922 to the late Robert Lee Taylor and Virginia Hagy Taylor and was raised in the Richlands, VA area. She and her husband moved to Cincinnati, OH as young adults and remained there for 49 years before moving back to Virginia. During her time in Ohio, Delma was a member of Mt. Carmel Church for 40 years and retired from the Cincinnati Division of Disabled American Veterans. She was an avid reader, loved blooming flowers, and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Delma is preceded in death by her husband, Noah C. Dye; infant son, Douglas Dwight Dye; daughter, Virginia Dye Bates; brothers, Berlie Taylor and Robert Lee Taylor, Jr.; and sister, Clara Dotson. She is survived by her daughter, Betty L. Hurley and husband Burton of Belfast, VA; three sons, John Wesley Dye and wife Rose of Savanah, GA, Donze Monroe Dye and wife Patty of Cincinnati, OH, and John Paul Dye and wife Makeisha of Milan, IN; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held 6-9 p.m. Monday, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2014 at the funeral home with Veronica McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery with the great-grandsons Isaac Stacy, Aaron Taylor Stacy, James Hurley, Johnathan Hurley, Christopher Dotson, Matthew Hurley, Ryan Meadows, and Patrick Deel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Hurley, Robert B. Hurley, Russell Hurley, William Stacy, Mark Case, Bobby Taylor, Richard Maybrier, Brian Alsip, Kevin Dye, and Mark Singleton.
