Dixie was born in Washington County, VA on January 15, 1932 to the late William Duncan and Fannie Wise Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane R. Hearl; son, Gary B. Reynolds; and several sisters. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James Stanley Reynolds, son, Larry Gene Reynolds and wife Patty of Abingdon, VA; daughter, Karen Wimmer of Bristol, VA; two sons-in-law, Wayne Wimmer and Rev. Roger Hearl; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wise; six grandchildren, Melissa Lee and husband Chris, Roger Hearl, Jr. and wife Cari, David Hearl and wife Crystal, Jason Reynolds and fiancé Heather White, Justin Reynolds, Beverly Thomas and husband Billy; 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Reverend Roger Hearl officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8th at Forest Hills Memory Garden where David Hearl, Roger Hearl, Jr., Chris Lee, Jason Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Billy Thomas, and Wayne Wimmer will serve as pallbearers. Ronnie Duty and Dr. Simon Pennings will serve as honorary pallbearers.
