Donnie Lee Cox, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was lifelong native of Washington County, Va. Donnie’s life passions were his family and his truck. His children smile when they talk about taking turns going on long haul trips with him.
He was predeceased by his son Donnie Lee, Jr., his parents Calvin Lee and Lula Likey Cox.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 52 years Rebekah Harper Cox; sons Jonathan Cox and wife Shannon, Calvin Cox and wife Kisha, and Joshua Cox; daughter Rebekah Greer and husband Jackie; brothers Bobby Cox and wife Rosie, Jimmy Cox and wife Della, and Ricky Cox and wife Brenda; sisters Mary Jane Cox, Wanda Eller, and Ruthie Lester and husband Cecil; 12 grandchildren, including McKinley Lee Shaffer and Isabella Justice, who were very special to Donnie; 2 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Cox Family Cemetery; Mendota, Va. Casket bearers will be selected from family members.
