Doris Ann Spangler Walton

Doris Ann Spangler Walton, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. She was born on July 9, 1935 in Williamson, West Virginia to A.H "Reese" and Mary Spangler. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.H. "Tubby" Walton, Jr.
Doris had been a resident of Newnan, GA for 13 years after moving from Abingdon, VA where she had lived for 40 years. During her time in Newnan, she was surrounded by caring neighbors who provided her friendship and a great sense of community. Doris served as the Chair of the County Supervisors for Washington County, VA, was a member of the Board of Directors for the Bristol Ballet Company, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynne Lowe and son-in-law William Lowe of Abingdon, VA and Amy Walton of Atlanta, GA; and one granddaughter, Meighen Lowe of Carrboro, NC.
The family will be welcoming friends at the home of Lynne and Bill Lowe at 20215 Vances Mill Road in Abingdon on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 1-4 pm.
