Doris Wise Testerman

Doris Wise Testerman, age 74, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 13, 1944, to the late Campbell Jesse Wise and Lula Bell Gobble Wise.  Doris retired from Johnston Memorial Hospital and was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death her husband, Ray Testerman; four siblings, Ruby Ann Tignor, Maynard Carlos Wise, Retha Mae Scott, and J.C. Wise. Doris is survived by her son, Aaron Wade Bordwine of the home; daughter, Maria Annette Cress and husband, Lindsey, of Bristol, Tenn.; eight siblings:  Virginia Irene Scott of Abingdon, Va.; James Russell Wise and wife, Joann, of Abingdon, Va.; Shirley Marie Dale and husband, Carl, of Abingdon, Va.; Peggy Joyce Pickle and husband, Kermit, of South Carolina; Mike Donald Wise and wife, Lois, of Abingdon, Va.; Linda Sue Nickels and husband, “Nick”, of Newport, Va.; Bobby Gene Wise and wife, Sandra, of Abingdon, Va.; and Richard Eugene Wise and wife, Phyllis, of Abingdon, Va.; seven grandchildren: Jonathan Wise of Abingdon, Va.; Jessica Dickenson of Meadowview, Va.; Jacob Wise of Bristol, Tenn.; Jillian Wise of Bristol, Tenn.; Justin Bordwine of Abingdon, Va.; Farah Bordwine of Saltville, Va.; and Cora Bordwine of Saltville, Va.; eight great grandchildren and one on the way. 

A funeral ceremony will be held at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. with Paul Price officiating.  A committal service will be held at Knollkreg Memorial Park where Allen Nickels, Curtis Pickle, Jimmy Scott, Jeff Webb, Darrell Wise, Gregg Wise, Timmy Wise, and Tracy Wise will serve as pallbearers.  Additional nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
