Dorothy "Lucille" Wise

Dorothy “Lucille” Wise, age 86, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at NHC HealthCare Bristol.  She was born December 13, 1934, to the late Beecher Russell Gobble and Ardelia Wise Gobble.  She attended Revival Center Church in Bristol, Va. 

In addition to her parents, Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Dallas Jessie Wise, Sr.; brother, Leslie Gobble; and sister, Henrietta Wise. 

She is survived by three sons:  Dallas Jessie Wise, Jr. and wife, Stella, of Abingdon, Va.; Guy Russell Wise of the home; and Ricky Allen Wise of Abingdon, Va.; daughter, Dorothy Maxine Tate and husband, Chris, of Abingdon, Va.; two sisters, Evlia Leonard and husband, Bill, of Abingdon, Va. and Nannie Bee Andis and husband, Joe, of Abingdon, Va.; eight grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Lyons Smith and Evangelist Leo Rymer officiating.  Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.  In observance of Covid-19 precautions face masks will be required for attendance and social distancing will be implemented.
