Dorothy Mae Reynolds

Abingdon, VA – Dorothy Mae Reynolds went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at her home. She was of the Free Pentecostal faith and was a member of Corner House Church. Dorothy was employed as a nurse’s aide at both Bristol Memorial Hospital and Johnston Memorial Hospital. Following her retirement she continued her ministry by sitting with elderly patients in their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Banner Reynolds; son, Jay Reynolds; daughter, Penny Reynolds; and two infant sons. Dorothy is survived by five sons, Fred Reynolds and wife Doris, Bobby Reynolds and wife Wanda, Slemp Reynolds and wife Margaret, Moses Reynolds and wife Marie, and Albert Reynolds and wife Alicia; five daughters, Peggy Miller and husband Ballard, Noami Fields, Ellen Black and husband Roger, Tinie Campbell, and Bonnie Boardwine and husband David; 38 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 4th at the funeral home with Bro. Fred Reynolds, Rev. Eugene Miller, and Bro. Ballard Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where pallbearers will be selected from the grandsons. Great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers as well as Roger Black and Ballard Miller. Flowers will be accepted.
