Dorothy Sue Wilson Wagner, 69 and lifelong resident of Washington County, passed on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. Sue was a 1968 graduate of John S. Battle High School. She attended Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church, was a former member of Riverview Methodist Church, and a member of Bell-Walsh Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star in Benhams, Va.
Sue worked in the engineering and purchasing department of Raytheon Missile Systems for 23 years and later helped many entrepreneurs as a small business consultant at Virginia Highlands Community College for 23 years. Sue’s volunteer work and service to her community earned her the Kentucky Colonel Award.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Barbara King Wilson, and brother, Fred Wilson. Sue is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mac Wagner; son, David Wagner and wife Heather of Bristol, Va.; granddaughters, Chloe Fuller and Hope Wagner; aunt, Juanita Cumbow; special nephew, Freddie Wilson; special friends, Shirley and Nat, Mike and Missy, Patsy and General, Linda, Mary, Aunt Neat and Diane, and her Eastern Star friends; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Dingus officiating. Eastern Star rites will be provided by Bell-Walsh Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Gardens, Lebanon, Va., with Mark Wagner, Bill King, Garland Osborne, Mike Gill, Walter Wagner, James Wagner, Timmy Dix, and Tim Wagner serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen “Goob” Campbell, Jim Tilley, Richard de Montebello, and Nat Barker.
