Earl Rose Fletcher

Abingdon, VA- Earl Rose Fletcher, age 89, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Henry Fletcher and Rachel Breeding Fletcher on September 5, 1925 in Davenport, VA. Earl was a decorated veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany during World War II. He was a carpenter by trade and served as a supervisor at Jay’s Construction. His hobbies included hunting and gardening. Earl was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Junilee Potter Fletcher; son, Teddy Bruce Fletcher; daughter, Myra Jane Fletcher; four brothers, Arnold Fletcher, Worley Fletcher, Herbert Fletcher, and Eugene Fletcher; and two sisters, Marie Fletcher and Lola Fletcher. He is survived by two sons, Roger Fletcher of Vansant, VA and Mikeal Patrick Fletcher and wife Kimberly of Abingdon, VA; two daughters, Earla K. Stacy and husband Garland of Abingdon, VA and Linda Gail Farmer and husband Raymond of Rowe, VA; brother, Bernard Fletcher and wife Jackquetta of Lebanon, VA; sister, Adelene Belcher of Honaker, VA; sister-in-law, Della Fletcher of Abingdon, VA; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Reverend Troy Harris officiating. A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9th at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN where Military Honors will be provided by the Tennessee National Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from nephews and grandsons. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Wellmont Hospice and would like to direct memorial contributions to the hospice, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
