Earnest Clarence Tedder

Abingdon, VA – Earnest Clarence Tedder, age 84, passed on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN. Mr. Tedder was a lifelong resident of Abingdon, VA and attended River of Life Baptist Church in Piney Flats, TN. He was a farmer his entire life and loved working with horses, cows, and tractors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Newton Tedder and Bessie Pauline Tilson Tedder; brother, Douglas Tedder; and two sisters, Helen Pauline Fleenor and Ruby Mazza. He is survived by his triplet daughters, Vanessa Ramsey and husband Larry, Teressa Chase, and Melissa Marshall and husband John, all of Bristol, TN; sister, Myrtle Lilly of Meadowview, VA; special friend and mother of his daughters, Molly Shaffer; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 5-8 Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Donnie Humphrey’s officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Findley, George Schrader, Glenn Wise, John Marshall, Cameron Lilly, and Danny Nieberlein.
