Edmund Daniel “Eddie” Trogdon, Jr. age 90, of Meadowview, Va., passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at English Meadows. He was born December 9, 1926, in Fayetteville, N.C. to the late Edmund Daniel Trogdon, Sr. and Lalar Barfield Trogdon. Eddie was a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II in the European Theater. He retired from Bill Gatton Chevrolet after 46 years.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Thomas Trogdon; son, James Edmund “Jim” Trogdon; grandson, Jamie Danielyn Trogdon; three brothers, Bill, Tom, and John Trogdon; and three sisters, Mary Frances Wright, Gladys Spears, and Pat Whitney.
He is survived by three sons: William “Bill” Trogdon of Bristol, Tenn.; Larry Trogdon of Meadowview, Va.; and Mark Trogdon of Meadowview, Va.; daughter, Linda Casey and husband Rick of Meadowview, Va.; three sisters, Eunice Hill, Barbara Rollins, and Dorothy Tatum; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. 24210, with Rev. Paul Ketron officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Nick Casey, Brian Hinchey, Chris Jessee, Shannon Sexton, Scott Trogdon, and William Trogdon will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Navy. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Forest Hills Chapel.
