Edgar James Farmer, 84, husband of Alma Hinson Farmer, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born December 4, 1924 in Hurricans, NC, he was the son of the late Dewey and Minnie Roop Farmer. He was a retired general contractor and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Alma Hinson Farmer of Manning; two daughters, Dreama Blevins, Grassy Creek, NC, Patricia Bruch, Mentor, Ohio,; a son, James Farmer, Florida; three sisters, Hazel Doleinger, Honey brook, PA, Mae Taylor, Bristol, VA, Betty Emmerson, Abingdon, VA, three step-children, Ann Szasz, Middlefield, Ohio, Robert Biggerstaff, Chatsworth, GA ( currently Afghanistan) , Ray Biggerstaff, Pikeville, NC, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Farris Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Farris Funeral Home.
