Edith June Bowman Owens

Abingdon, VA – Edith June Bowman Owens, age 98, passed on Saturday April 14, 2018, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Bowman and Ella Sutherland Bowman; husband, Dudley Owens; sisters, Gladys Sykes, Marie Clay, Ruby Holyfield, Constance Addington, and Audrey Anderson; brothers, Cecil Bowman and Stanford Bowman; and grandson, Stephen Morgan. 

Mrs. Owens is survived by three sons, Larry (Patsy) Owens of Bristol, VA, Richard (Carol) Owens of Fayetteville, NC, and Dennis (Margaret) Owens of Bedford, VA; daughter, Karen (Ken) Morgan of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.  Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery prior to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Asperger’s Syndrome Organization at www.aspergerssyndrome.org, American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, American Heart Association at www.heart.org, or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at www.mda.org, in Mrs. Owens’ name.
