Mrs. Edna Mae Jackson, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Maggie Barlow Widener; her brother, Charles J. Widener and her husband, William Fred Jackson.

She attended the Victory Family Center and enjoyed gardening and canning. Mrs. Jackson was employed with Holiday Inn for nineteen years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Pete Johnson of Abingdon, VA; her sister, Eula Wyatt of Meadowview, VA; her grandson, Joshua Johnson, Lebanon, VA,
sister-in-law, Vivian Widener, several nieces and nephews; and special friends Penny and Alexis Davidson, Beulah Snead and Lathea Carter.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Greendale Nursing Home for the love, care and support given to Mrs. Jackson.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jackson will conducted Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Service Main Street Chapel, 427 East Main Street with Pastor Dickie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gary Widener, Norman Widener, Jeff Wyatt, Jack Neal, Tracy Wyatt and Brandon Wyatt.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Home or anytime at the home of her daughter, 14202 Middle Pointe Ct., Abingdon, VA.
