Edna Mae Millsap

Mrs. Edna Mae Millsap, 88, formerly of Bristol, TN, died on September 23, 2009 at Brighton Gardens in Charlotte, NC. She was born on February 5, 1921 in Crockett, VA. Mrs. Millsap was a member of Reynolds Memorial Methodist Church in Bristol. She retired from Univac in 1974. She was also a member of the Twin City Rebekah Lodge #102. Edna Mae was also a member of the Virginia State Rebekah Assembly where she served as District Deputy President of LAPM as well as other appointed offices. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was active in the Bristol Homemakers Club and loved to practice her artistic skills. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest James (Sherman) Millsap, her parents, Lota and Lawrence Felty, and brother, Hurley K. Felty.

She is survived by her brother William H. Felty, of Bristol, TN and his wife Maudella; her son, Gary Neal, of Annapolis, MD and his wife Diane; and her daughter Joyce Powell and her husband Bill of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Millsap's grandchildren include Jay Neal and his wife, Kindra; Heather Weitzel and her husband, Eric; Neal Powell and his wife Sandy; Emily Carroll and her husband, Jon Paul. Great-grandchildren include Michael, Joshua, David and Rachel Neal; Sara, Noah and Matthew Weitzel; Noah and Caroline Powell; Hannah Carroll and Mitchell and Cameron Long.

Arrangements are in the care of Farris Funeral Service, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon. The visitation will be on Sunday evening, September 27, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Monday, September 28, 2009, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Knollkreg Cemetery.
