Edward Wilson “Frog” Goad, age 68, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his residence. He retired from the former Asarco in Abingdon after more than 30 years of service and was a former member of the Washington County Moose Lodge 1966.
Frog was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Dixon Rutherford; stepfather, Jerry Wayne Rutherford; brother, Eugene Goad; and brother-in-law, Junior Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Goad; daughter, Robin Neff and husband, Michael, of Tom’s Brook, Va.; brother, Jimmy Goad and wife, Connie, of Abingdon, Va.; sister, Betty L. Martin of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, and Shawn Smith; nephew, Michael Goad; and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Knollkreg Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
