Edwin Johnston McCauley, 74, passed away May 8, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mr. McCauley was born March 19, 1938 to the late Samuel Howard and Ethel Johnston McCauley in Rochester, PA. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Edwin settled in Santa Barbara County, CA where he retired as a detective from the Santa Barbara County Sherriff's Office.
In 2005, Edwin and his wife Myrna moved to Abingdon, VA where he was a member of the Washington County Moose Lodge, Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Blue Knights. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Edwin John McCauley, and sister, Shirley Kenetchel.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Myrna McCauley; three sons, Michael (Kathleen) McCauley of Rock Creek, OH, Keith (Fely) McCauley of Norfolk, VA, and Philip McCauley of Chandler, AZ; two brothers, Earl (Alice) McCauley of Oklahoma and James (LaWanda) McCauley of Georgia; sister, Kimberly Mullenix of Georgia; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210, with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force.
