Eleanor Jane Romnosky

Mrs. Eleanor Jane Romnosky, age 73, passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2013 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Jane was born in Meadowview, VA but had lived most of her adult life in Maryland. Following the death of her husband, George, 20 years ago, she moved from Mt. Airy, MD to Abingdon. During her working life, she was a Vice President of Rockville Mailing. Jane was very active in St. Mark's Russian Orthodox Church in Potomac, MD. She was known for her cooking to support the church bazaars. Many members would place orders for her dishes ahead of time! Jane was an avid reader, and completed thousands of books.

Mrs. Romnosky was predeceased by her husband George, and her parents Jacob Preston and Laura Frances Wagner.

She is survived by 2 sons; Steve Fields (Susan) of San Marco, CA and Ray Fields (Janet) of Middletown, MD; one brother, Chick Wagner (Annis) of Abingdon, VA and one sister Libby Wagner Preston (Larry) of Bristol, TN; 4 grandchildren, Heather Bryan, Brian Fields, Colin Fields, and Eric Fields; 2 great grandchildren Isabelle and Sophie Bryan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Jane Romnosky will be held at noon on Saturday August 24, 2013 at the Farris Funeral Chapel with Father Stephen Matthew officiating. Interment will follow at the Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, MD on Sunday August 25, 2013. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.
