Abingdon, VA – Elizabeth Ann Nunley Rosenbaum, age 60 and a friend to all she met, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center. Ann worked in the Greendale Elementary School Cafeteria for 20 years and later served as a Deputy for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Animal Shelter. She loved to go to the beach and attended Cedar Pointe Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Jessee Nunley, Jr. and Margaret Ellen Carroll. She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Sammy Joe Rosenbaum; son, Steve Rosenbaum of Abingdon, VA and special friend Deborah Penley of Honaker, VA; two brothers, Dwight David (Kathy) Nunley and Bobby Wayne (Freda) Nunley, both of Lebanon, VA; sister, Gloria Jean (Steve) Cox of Damascus, VA; and grandchildren, Dustin Lee Rosenbaum, Jeremy Joe Rosenbaum, and Shyann Hope Rosenbaum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Forest Hills Chapel, 19415 Lee Hwy., Abingdon, VA, of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. James Nunley and Rev. Jim Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Robert Nunley, James Nunley, Matthew Nunley, Dustin Rosenbaum, Jeremy “J.J.” Rosenbaum, and Blake Andis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the men of Cedar Pointe Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be held 10-11 a.m. just prior to the service.
