"And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:14
Ella Annette Singleton was a woman of strong faith who looked forward to the eternal life she knew awaited her. On Friday, November 16, 2018, at 90 years of age, her faith became sight as she left this world and went to her Heavenly home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Garland Singleton; son, Tommy Singleton; daughter, Martha Williams; parents, Flora Hopkins Mullen and Roy B. Mullen; and brothers, Charles Mullen, R.B. Mullen, and Bob Mullen.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Singleton and wife, Kathy, of Abingdon, Va.; Cathy Nacrelli and husband, Rob, of Elkton, Md.; Debbie Foster and husband, Jeff, of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Betty Moye and husband, Charlie, of Saraland, Ala. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Connie Singleton of Abingdon, Va.; son-in-law, Gary Williams of Abingdon, Va.; sister, Helen Perkins and husband, Andy, of Lafayette, Va.; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close family and friends.
She was an extraordinary mother whose faith was evident to all who met her. She never missed sending a birthday or anniversary card to a loved one, and she always remembered everyone’s favorite meal. Her home was a place where the welcome mat was always out and the door was always open. She was a compassionate and giving person who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and a faithful member of Open the Eyes of My Heart Bible Study. She was a lover of books, particularly her Bible, word search puzzles, flowers, hummingbirds, white fluffy clouds, cooking shows, and women’s basketball. She is irreplaceable.
