Elmer E. Kenyon, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol , TN.

Mr. Kenyon was born June 20, 1931 in Terrytown , New York and was a son of the late George G. and Gertrude Kenyon. He was a volunteer fireman for 50 years in North Terrytown/Sleepy Hollow, NY and was fire chief there in '78. He was also involved for over 50 years with the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Kenyon served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan during the Korean War from '49 '52 and was a member of the American Legion in Abingdon. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight of Council 5414 in Keene, NH; a 4th Degree Knight and Deputy Grand Knight in Abingdon. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church in Abingdon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marguerite Kenyon; his three children, Marie Daley of Hyde Park , NY , James Kenyon of Las Vegas , NV and Jeanne Kenyon of Littleton , CO ; three grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Daley, and Lori Kenyon; sister, Ruth Lupi of Boynton Beach , FL , and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Abingdon with Father Paul Maier officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens . Pallbearers will be Local Knights of Columbus Chapter and Fourth Degree Honor Guard. Military honors will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. Friday, January 6, 2012.
