Joseph Henry “Eric” Duncan, age 30, of Meadowview, Va., was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a 2005 graduate of Patrick Henry High School where he lettered in football (no. 76), wrestling, and track and was a member of the chorus. Eric was most recently employed at HAPCO and attended Yellow Springs Church.
Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.W. “Jack” Duncan and Frances Tedder Duncan; maternal grandparents, Henry “Henjohn” Fields and Frances Singleton Fields; uncle, Kenneth Fields; nephew, Eric Shane Holmes; brother-in-law, Mark “Hippy” Chadwick; and uncle-in-law, Frankie Tuggle.
Eric is survived by his parents, Richard Lee “Rick” Duncan and partner, Diane Washburn, of Blountville, Tenn. and Dorothy Lorraine “Dotsy” Fields Duncan of the home; loving wife of eight years, Brandy Susan Davidson Duncan; daughter, Marley Cheyne Duncan; brother, Nicholas Lee Duncan of the home; two sisters, April Darlene Dupin and husband, Christopher, of Niceville, Fla. and Melissa Lynn Duncan and partner, Frank Day, of Glade Spring, Va.; four uncles: Stan Duncan of Glade Spring, Va.; Henry “Butch” Fields of Abingdon, Va.; Harold Fields and wife, Ruby, of Abingdon, Va.; and Mark Fields and wife, Cindy, of Meadowview, Va.;two aunts, Monique Millinger of Glade Spring, Va. and Norma Fields; niece, Rayelea Santolla; two nephews, Payton Holmes, Jr. and Camden Alikai Santolla; special cousin, J.T. Duncan; father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Patty Davidson of Saltville, Va.; sister-in-law, Trish Holmes of Saltville, Va.; and grandmother-in-law, Bessie Tuggle.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Dale Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral. Justin Adair, Zack Cannon, Jeff Davidson, Nicholas Duncan, J.T. Duncan, Butch Fields, Harold Fields, Mark Fields, Peyton Holmes, Jr., and Marty Kelly will serve as honorary pallbearers.
