Esther Ione Buchanan, 82, formerly of Abingdon, Virginia passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 in Winter Haven, Florida.
She was born in Washington Co., VA and was a daughter of the late Jessie and Rachel Rash Osborne. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Buchanan, a son, Ronald Buchanan and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are sons, Dale Neaves and wife, Judy of Oklahoma City, OK, Robert Neaves and wife, Patricia of Lakes Wales, FL, Tim Buchanan and wife, Bonnie of Tampa, FL and David Buchanan and wife, Ruth of Bradenton, FL; daughters, Betty Ray and husband, Gene of Montgomery, AL, Drema Willis of Palatka, FL and Debby Loggans and husband, Jonathan of Abingdon, VA,; daughter-in-law, Carol Buchanan of St. Augustine, FL; sister, Kate Buchanan of Lusby, Maryland; twenty one grandchildren, including her devoted granddaughter, Deborah Len Miller, seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Mr. Bill Reece officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Farris Funeral Service.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Abingdon Senior Center, 300 Senior Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210 or the Children's Advocacy Center, P.O. Box 16231, Bristol, VA 24209.
