Etta Jane Millsap

Etta Jane Millsap, 83, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD on January 15, 2011 due to heart failure.

Born January 1, 1928 in Abingdon, VA, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Lucy Hess Blevins. She lived in Lothian, MD and was a homemaker for her eight kids and husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 55 years James Millsap; two sons Freddie and Jerry; 5 sisters, Nannie Snead, Lorene Castle, Katherine Thomas, Millie Hilt and Hazel Hodge; and 1 brother, Gilbert Blevins. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Pete) Bowles of Frederick, MD, her sons; Curtis (Linda) Millsap of Owings, MD, Donald Millsap of Lothian, MD, Thomas (Joyce) Millsap of Shady Side, MD, Randall (Freda) Millsap of West VA, and David Millsap of Harrisonburg VA, 26 grandkids and 36 great-grand kids, her sisters Frances Turley and Jean (Ralph) Price of Abingdon; her brothers William T. Blevins, Jr. of Abingdon and Richard (Juanita) Blevins of Bristol, VA; sister-in-law, Ann Millsap Thomas of Meadowview, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Etta will be especially remembered for her cooking and love of Bingo. She took great pride in her family and loved spending time with "the babies" whenever she could.

The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 or anytime prior at the home of Carl and Shirley Barker, 878 Hillman Hwy, Abingdon, VA.

Committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum with Bill Blevins officiating. Those attending are asked to assemble at the mausoleum.
