Evelyn Jean Ratliff

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Franklin Ratliff; her daughter, Barbara Ann Ratliff Looney; son, Kenneth L. Ratliff; sisters, Juanita Crouse and Mavis Randolph; brother, Darrell Cook; granddaughter, Jennifer Reed; grandson, Mike Ferrell and infant grandson, Jason Looney.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Ratliff Ferrell and husband Freddie of Emory, Virginia; three brothers, Robert Dan Cook of Nashville, TN, Norman Cook of Bristol, Virginia and David Cook and wife Peggy of Piney Flats, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Sean Looney of Richmond, Virginia, Traci Ferrell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ken Ratliff and wife Mandy of Columbus, Ohio; two great grandsons, James and Nathan Ratliff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service, 427 E. Main Street. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the First Christian Church of Abingdon, Virginia, 185 Old Jonesboro Road at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tom Crise officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM in the Mountain Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Rock, Virginia.
