Ewing Coy Barker

Meadowview, VA – Ewing Coy Barker, 79, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015, at Grace Health Care. Mr. Barker was born and raised in Lee County, Va. and moved to Meadowview in 1968. Ewing was an employee of Consolidated Coal and Moss Trucking, and he was also a member of Harvest Fellowship Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy Barker and Eura Lee Slemp Barker; brother Earnest Howard; and sisters Reba, Helen Lee, Elizabeth Alberta and Mary Elsie. Ewing is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Louise Gill Barker; son, Randy Wayne Barker of Meadowview; daughter, Carmella Barker of Glade Spring, Va.; granddaughter, Lindsey Lester of Bristol, Va.; brother, James Bascom of Bristol, Va; sisters, Clara Faye, Martha Manitoo, Nora Bernice, and Margaret Jewel; and 33 nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Charles DeBord officiating.
