Frances Alphfretta Gregory

Abingdon, VA – Frances Alphfretta Carmack Gregory, age 80, passed on Friday, August 18, 2017, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Alfie was a member of Blackwell’s Chapel United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Jessie Booher Carmack; sister, Minnie Belle Stophel; and stepson, Kent Gregory.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Gregory; her loving and caring daughter who devoted much time to Alphie’s last days, which she is commended by the family for, Lisa Lilly and husband Glenn of Abingdon, VA; stepsons, Kevin Allen Gregory and wife Chantel of Meadowview, VA and Keith Lee Gregory and wife Kimberlea of Bristol, VA; stepdaughter, Robin Renee Wade and husband Blaine of Bristol, TN; brother, Charles Wiley Carmack, Jr. of Abingdon, VA; eight grandchildren, Kelly Gregory, Samantha Gregory, Parker Wade, Colton Wade, Devin Gregory, Logan Gregory, Katelyn Gregory, and Remington Wade; two great grandchildren; special, loving niece, Ginger McIntyre; and her cat, Miss Kitty.

Visitation with the family will be held 6-7 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Stephen Castle and Pastor Scott Spence officiating. It was Mrs. Gregory’s wish to be cremated after the service.
