Frances E. Diviak Price, 81, went to be with her heavenly father, whom she loved and served all her life, on Friday, May 4, 2012, after a brief illness. Heaven now has a beautiful new angel in it's choir. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Frances was born November 24, 1930 in Raven, VA and lived in Raysal, WV for many years. She lived in Abingdon for the past thirty-five years. She has been happily married to her current husband, Arthur Price for four years. Mrs. Price was past Ladies Auxiliary Commander of the James E. Peters #57 Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans in Abingdon and attended the Trigg Street Church of God. She was a retired LPN. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 57 years, John R. Diviak; parents, John B. and Ida Perkins Prater Grindstaff; step-father, Nathan Grindstaff; brother, Eulass Prater and sisters, Jenny Bea Newberry and Margie Diviak.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Price; son, Bill (Monica) Diviak of Bristol, TN; four daughters, Barbara (William) Uhl of Bristol, TN, Mary Jo (Michael) Gibson of Bristol, VA, Judy (Ronnie) Blevins of Bristol, TN and Angela (Ricky) Hughes of Abingdon, VA; two step-sons, Gary Price of Waltonburg, TN and Larry Price of Bristol, VA; two sisters, Nora (Hufford) Payne of Narrows, VA and EmmaLee (Dennis) Barnes of El Cajon, CA; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Karen Beasley.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Brian Yeary and Rev. Richie Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Nathan Gibson, David Ball, William Dalton, Michael Diviak, John Uhl, Walter Clappes, Tyler Uhl, L.D. Ashley and Brenton Clappes serving as pallbearers.
