Frances Morrell Pippin

Frances M. Pippin a well-known resident of Abingdon, loving wife and mother, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bristol, TN to the late Louis and Arlene Morrell on September 30, 1941. Frances enjoyed golfing and was an excellent golfer she was also an excellent interior decorator.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by son-in-law, Timothy Plogger; brothers Bobby Morrell, Glen Morrell and wife Thelma, Howard Morrell and wife, Carita, Haskell Morrell and wife Ann, sisters, Reva Shaver, Naomi Hartley, Leola Howley and husband, Tom, Edna Cox and husband Carl, Brother-in-law Earl Doyle, Kenneth Pippin, Glen Pippin and wife Rhoda, Hearse Denton and Helen, sister-in-law Audie Hensley and Landon.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Sanford Pippin, daughter, Donna Pippin Plogger of Forest VA; granddaughters, Lexi Plogger of Forest VA, Lindsey Merryman and husband, Jonathan of Davidson NC; two great-granddaughters, Presley and Charlee Merryman; Sisters, Anna Mae Doyle, Dean Harper, June Hartley; Brother-in-law Duane Hartley and sisters-in-law Yalile Morrell, Virginia Pippin; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon VA 24210, with Pastor David Robins officiating.

The family would like to express thanks to JMH special nurses and Doctors on the third floor, especially Elizabeth, Laura, Rupali, Geneveve, Jeremy, Amber, Allison and their assistants; Dr. Robertson, Dr. Hyatt, Dr. Ian and special thanks to Hospice for their assistance.
