Frances Stringer Logan departed this life on April 8, 2012, after a wonderful ninety-seven plus years. Born in Big Sandy, WV, to John and America (Meck) Virginia Booth Stringer, Frances came to Meadowview, VA at the age of six. She worked for a time at the Meadowview School cafeteria, Maiden's General Store in Meadowview and Chilhowie, and Larges Department Store in Abingdon.

Following WWII and a four year separation, she reunited with beloved husband and soulmate, Syl Logan. Frances was a loving homemaker and mother. She was a grand gardener, excellent cook and wonderful seamstress, making both of her daughters' wedding dresses. Her faith, humor, generosity and love have touched many.

She is survived by daughter Catherine (Cathy) and husband Joe Campbell of Park City, UT; grandson Aaron and wife Sara Campbell of Farmington, UT; grandson Joel, wife Anne and great-grandsons Ben and Abe Campbell of Wilmington, NC; son-in-law John Birckhead of Roanoke, VA; grandson David, wife Sarah, and great-grandson Logan Birckhead of Richmond, VA; grandson Nathan, wife Hollie, great-grandsons Charlie, Jake and Sam, and great-granddaughter Kaylee Ann Birckhead of Spring Hill, TN; sister Peggy and husband Jack Lester, and brother Joe and wife Billie Stringer, all of Bristol, VA; sisters-in-law Beulah Stringer of Abingdon, Judy Stringer of Bristol, and Jean Stringer of Shakopee, MN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family's sincere appreciation and gratitude goes to Ada Horn, Frances' cherished friend, neighbor, confidant, caregiver and angel on earth. We also extend our thanks to Sue Thomas, Lisa Campbell, and the staffs at both Valley Health Care and Hospice of SW Virginia.
