Franklin Howard Frank Rasnake, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2015, at his home. He was born on March 7, 1923, to the late Samuel Rasnake and Nancy Barton Rasnake in Buchanan County, Va. Frank was a lifelong farmer raising tobacco and cattle on his familys farm. He was later employed as a coal miner for Clinchfield Coal Company. He was of the Baptist faith.
Being preceded in death by 12 siblings, he was last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Ann Wright Rasnake; two sons, Jerry Rasnake of Honaker, Va. and Allen Rasnake of Castlewood, Va.; two daughters, Wanda Reedy and husband Fred of Swords Creek, Va. and Sandra Rasnake of Abingdon, Va.; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Reedy, Joshua Reedy, Chris Rasnake, Annette Ray, Montana Harris, Fawn Price, Breeanna Whitt, Nathaniel Rasnake, Rachael Rasnake; great grandson, Elijah Reedy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31st at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where pallbearers will be selected from grandsons and family. Howard Rasnake will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
