Frederick Charles Bunch, age 86, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, in Abingdon, Va.
Fred was born on November 21, 1934, in Lynchburg, Va., to the late William H. Bunch and Stella I. Sales Bunch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joanne (Hagy) Clark Bunch; his sister, Freda; and his brother, Philip Bunch.
Fred and his wife, Joanne, were long-time residents of Abingdon, but lived earlier years in Southern Maryland. He retired from Safeway Stores after 31 years of service.
He was a proud member of the Kazim Temple, Desert Sands Shriners Club and participated in many charity events. He and Joanne enjoyed traveling and visited the Grand Canyon, Branson, Missouri, Florida and with family in Maryland.
Fred is survived by two stepsons, Kenny Clark, Jr. and Walter K. Clark; two stepdaughters, Juanita L. Hood and Sharon Wright; nine grandchildren, Laura Hood, Shauna Simpson (Tommy), Andrea Brady (Justin), Stephanie Gammon (Josh), Ashley Justice (Scotty), Rachel Quade (Sean), Roxanne Bangs (Jared), Jon Clark and Gregory Clark; five great grandchildren, Madison, Tanner, MacKenzie, Alyssa and Harper; his niece, Becky Phillips (Paul); and nephew, Philip Bunch, Jr. (Joy); and his long-time friends, Marsha Braska and Cathy Clark.
A cryptside service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Bob Neace officiating. In observance of Covid-19 restrictions masks will be required and social distancing will be implemented.
