Gail Jane Otey, 56, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was born September 2, 1962 in Pennsylvania to the late Emmett Lloyd and the late Lora June Young Lloyd. Gail loved farming and gardening, raising alpacas, working with stained glass, and spending time with her family. Gail was a welder by trade and the first lady to take welding at the Washington County Trade Center.
Besides her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her son, Zachary Taylor Pickels.
Gail is survived by her husband of 25 years, Albert Lee Otey; two sons, Spencer Loren Otey of Asheville, N.C., and Carson Landon Emmett Otey of Bristol; brother Nathaniel Lloyd and wife Deidre of Johnson City, Tenn.; sister Brenda Boone and husband Bobby of Abingdon; and a niece and several nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with cremation to follow.
