Garland Denver Graybeal

Abingdon, VA – Garland Denver “Rooster” Graybeal, age 90, passed on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home. Mr. Graybeal worked at Abingdon Glass Company for over 30 years and was a charter member of the Green Springs Fire Department. He was also a member of Spoon Gap Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mamie Roark Graybeal; four brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nona Pope Graybeal; sons, Billy Graybeal, and James Graybeal and special friend Timmy Karen Harris, both of Abingdon, VA; daughter, Susan Harless and husband Wayne of Abingdon, VA; sister, Bertha Wise of Abingdon, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Herbert Bailey officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery.
