Gary Allen Blackburn

Gary Allen Blackburn, age 74, of Knoxville passed away on January 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother Velma Blackburn, formerly of Glade Spring, VA and father G.A.Blackburn. He is survived by his brother Bobby Blackburn and sister-in-law Sharli Blackburn of Troutville, VA ; niece Martha Blackburn of Atlanta; uncle Paul Tuell and aunt Betty Jo Tuell, of Abingdon, VA; aunt Mabel Tuell of Glade Spring, VA; aunt Anne Lemieux, of Lake Worth, FL; and several cousins. He will be greatly missed by his dear friend Marce Strickland.

Gary graduated from Maryville High School. After his studies at the University of Tennessee, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany and remained an avid UT sports fan. He was an Elder of the Erin Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.
