Gary Allen Singleton, Sr.

Abingdon, Va. – Gary Allen Singleton, Sr., 68, passed on Monday, June 26, 2017. Gary was a 1967 graduate of John S. Battle High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was machinist and retired from Kennametal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior Carl Singleton and Cora Maxine McIntyre Singleton, and brother, Timothy Jack Singleton.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary Allen Singleton, Jr. and wife Annette of Abingdon, Va.; daughter, Valeri Singleton of Abingdon, Va.; sister, Gail Singleton of Abingdon, Va.; two grandchildren, Tyler and Christina Singleton; great-grandchild, Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob McCormick and Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Interment will follow in Rust Hollow Cemetery with Tyler Singleton, Nathan Singleton, Justin Singleton, Alex Singleton, John Singleton, and Mark Scott serving as pallbearers. Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force.
